Students work best with me if…
You'll get the most out of training with me when these describe you.
You’re looking for an instructor who doesn’t just teach the steps, but explains the why behind every concept. Someone who provides the reasoning, context, and purpose, so you understand the foundation of what you’re learning.
You also want an instructor who motivates you to keep growing—someone who inspires consistent improvement, encourages you when challenges arise, and pushes you to reach your full potential.
With an instructor like this, you’ll not only master the material but also develop the drive to continuously progress and succeed.
Answers
FAQ
How long will it take?
The FAA minimum for a Private Pilot Certificate is 40 hours, but most students complete training in 50–70 hours. If you fly 2–3 times per week, many students finish in about 4–8 months.
Am I too old to learn to fly?
Not at all. Students begin training at many different ages, from teenagers to retirees. The most important factors are motivation, commitment, and meeting the required medical standards.
Is flying difficult?
Flying is a skill that can be learned by anyone willing to put in the time and effort. While there is a lot to learn, training is designed to build your knowledge and confidence one step at a time.
What if I’m afraid of heights?
Many pilots aren’t fans of standing on tall ladders or looking over the edge of a building. Flying feels very different because you’re inside the aircraft and focused on operating it rather than looking down.
Do I need to be good at math?
No advanced math is required. Basic arithmetic and simple calculations are all that’s needed for most pilot training.
What happens on the first lesson?
Your first lesson is an introduction to the airplane and the basics of flight. You’ll meet your instructor, learn about the aircraft, and most likely have the opportunity to take the controls and fly the airplane yourself under supervision.
